ICDSoft
The best all-around host I've
found has been ICDSoft. With lots of space, great features
and a very affordable rate ($65/year with domain registration),
ICDSoft is an excellent choice. They currently host my site,
and their tech support is second to none that I've come
accross so far. The best choice for sites larger than 5-10MB
and smaller than 300MB.
CGI-bin included at competitive rate? yes.
The
GraceNet
Another
good host, GraceNet is a Christian owned/operated company.
They offer many professional level hosting options. Their
tech support is also very good (though not quite as fast
as ICDSoft). Unfortunately, they just don't make sense for
smaller sites. Their rates are nowhere near competitive
with ICDSoft for sites under 300MB. However, for larger
sites they would be a good company to look into.
CGI-bin included at competitive rate? yes.
Hostica
If
your site will be very small and not require a CGI-bin,
the best deal would probably be Hostica. For example, you
could get 5 MB web hosting with domain registration for
a total of only $22/year. You can also add 15 MB of space
for another $18/year, for a total of 20 MB + domain registration
for $40/year. These prices do not include a CGI-bin. Their
most inexpensive hosting package with a CGI-bin is $5/month
and comes with much less than ICDSoft.
CGI-bin included at competitive rate? no.
Doteasy
If
you don't mind receiving daily advertisement emails, Doteasy
is a slightly cheaper option than Hostica (20 MB for $25/year
including domain registration).
CGI-bin included at competitive rate? no.
These
are just some sites I've found that look like good, inexpensive
options. If you want to use another service, that's fine.
Just so long as they provide FTP uploading service.
